Catalogue rules
Until May 2016, the titles listed in the VD17 database were recorded according to the “Rules for Alphabetical Cataloguing in Academic Libraries” (RAK-WB). New title descriptions are described according to the international set of rules “Resource Description & Access” (RDA). Old title descriptions are not being revised systematically.
The VD17 database is hosted by the GBV. The bibliographic description is therefore based on the data format of the joint GBV and SWB union database, K10plus. The VD17 database has its own format documentation.
